"In the South Ward of this Borough, where the Republicans last fall had a majority of 80 the whole Democratic ticket was elected by majorities ranging from 30 up to 142. In Hamilton township the Republicans had a decided majority last fall, this Spring our whole ticket was elected by handsome majorities, so in St. Thomas, and so in other Districts we could name, and in Green township the Gibraltar of Republicanism, the Democrats elected the Assessor, one Supervisor, one School Director, and Constable."
